Going camping

This weekend we went camping. We had a lot of fun. We got to sleep in a tent that we had recently bought. One of the nights, mom put Miles with me so I could keep him warm while she made her bed. It was really fun, because he kept on kicking me under the blankets and he had a really silly face.
We also had a lot of fun with campfires. We would go gather sticks from around where were were and throw them into the pit and start a fire. We made a lot of good treats in the fire like s'mores and banana boats. We cooked all of our food in the fire. Some of the food we put on the fire was breakfast burritos and foil dinners. We spent most of our time around the fire and told scary stories when it was dark.
On Sunday we went climbing with the Judds. It was a lot of fun. We did 4 different routes. The second to the last one was the hardest for me. I went on it 3 times in 3 different pathways. Sometimes I had to wait because there were so many people, but it was worth it.
This is one of the times that we were telling scary stories around the camp fire. We put all sorts of things in there, like cups, plates, wood and newspaper. Sometimes we put plastic in the fire, but that made a really nasty smell and a black fire. One of the stories was scary and funny at the same time. It was about a guy who went to a barn and went inside. He heard something say: I got you where I want you, and now I'm gonna eat you. He went closer to the sound, and it was coming from a door. He went inside and there was a monkey with a bugger on his finger.
The last day we were there, we went to Mesa arch in Canyonlands. I got to go on top of the arch. It was really scary, because it was really high off the ground. It doesn't look like that, but over that ledge it goes down down down down. My mom had to hold my hand to be able to do it. On that day I also caught a lizzard. I named it hyper, because he was running around in the bottle that we put him in like crazy. Those are only some of the things that I did, but they were all pretty fun.

My Primary Talk

When my grandma was my age her mother got very sick. She had to stay in bed for about one year she was also in the hospital a lot. The kid's had to do all the house cleaning and cooking. There was a nice lady who brought flowers to her once a week from her garden. My grandma couldn't wait for the flowers to come each week. There was lots of service given by the family and from others in their church. This is what king Benjamin said about service.
Mosiah 2:17-18
And behold, I tell you these things that you may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God. Behold, ye have called me your king; and if I, whom ye call your king, so labor to serve you, then ought not ye to labor to serve one another.

Water droplet story

I am a water droplet, and I live in a river. But oh, how annoying it is when all the fish do is bump into me. Oh no! I am rising into the air. The air is making me kind of sleepy. I think I will take a long nap. Hey, what woke me up? I am very upset! Oh, that's what woke me up, the lightning. Oh no, don't make a hole in the cloud! I don't want to fall. I'm faaallling. It's getting so cold. I'm freezing. I am a solid. I am a snowflake. I landed on a tree. All of the snowflake friends are landing on me. What's happening? The snow is melting and I am a droplet again. Ah, I'm falling off the tree. This is actually pretty fun. Oh no, not those fish again!

If I were a mountain man

If I were a mountain man, I would live in a big cave made from big rocks. And if I could I would make a pack of at least 30-40 people. The cave would be very long and narrow. The women would collect mosses to make beds and other things. They would find mosses on trees, logs etc. While the men were out in the wide prairies hunting for animals they could kill and eat such as mountain goats and other wild animals. I would be one of the men, and I would help track down and hunting animals. Hunting animals isn't like going to the supermarket. Not at all. You would have to make an arrow and make a bow. First you would make a sharp point with a rock to be able to kill an animal. Then you would need a long straight thick stick for the arrow.  And if you didn't have wool you would use a vine to wrap the rock on the stick. For the bow you would need a very long piece of wood. You would carve it where it was curved a bit so it was easier to hold. When you were done that's when you can start getting ready to hunt and kill your prey.

At the woods

We went to the woods while we were there we did many fun things. For instance we built a big fort that you couldn't see through. We wanted to make our fort over the top of the tree stump, but there were bees inside. I almost got stung by one, because I stepped on it. When we were done making the fort, we got to eat our snacks and drinks.

Daddy also made a little fire inside the little fort.
We wanted to play hide and seek, but dad didn't want to. So we played marbles, because Sterling brought all of his marbles with him.
It was kind of chilly out there, and we didn't really bring our jackets. All we had was our sweaters. After that, we went to a playground that I didn't really get to play on because Sterling needed to go home because he needed to go to the bathroom. Before that, dad tried to get a birds nest that was super high in the air, in a super high tree. He said he could climb it, but he didn't want to. So he climbed little bit, and then climbed back down. After he got down, we went back to the fort to see if anyone had taken it, and then we were going home and walked on a little bridge where if you fall in, then you will get soaked and be hard to get out. We eventually crossed it safely.
Sterling was the first one to try and go over the bridge. We also found a few hiking sticks, and a few burnt up places where other people had made their fires.
